Cost of electricity to increase this fall

Lower Valley Energy customers will see an average 7.9% electricity rate increase beginning October 1. The adjustment, approved by the cooperative’s board, reflects rising costs from the Bonneville Power Administration, which supplies over 80% of LVE’s power, along with inflation and needed infrastructure repairs.

Even with the increase—the third passed on to consumers in 30 years—LVE’s residential rates are expected to remain among the lowest in the nation.
